Taking place on the 21st and 22nd of October, the Zeiss “Seeing Beyond Event” brought together leading figures within the optics industry for a two day convention that focused on the latest developments for the brand.
Founded by Carl Zeiss in 1846, Zeiss originally served as a workshop for precision mechanics and optical instruments in Jena. In 1866, Carl Zeiss recruited physicist Ernst Abbe to help him improve microscopes. After the passing of Carl Zeiss in 1889, Ernst Abbe created the Carl Zeiss Foundation, which would become the company’s sole owner. Its profits benefitted science, social and cultural projects, and the workforce, too. Back in 1893, the first subsidiary was opened in London. Before the outbreak of WWI, sites were established across the world, which then had to be closed when war broke out. Thereafter, the sites outside Germany continued to develop and ZEISS is now a globally operating company. Over the years the company has expanded its presence and offerings and is developing crucial laboratory equipment, high powered lenses and an assortment of specialist spectacle lenses.
Practice Manager Priti Kotecha was joined by Founder Roger Pope at the event which attracted over 500 professionals from across the continent. The event saw attendees learn about the latest innovations from Zeiss, the chance to meet leading experts and inspirational eye care professionals.. What’s more, there were dedicated sessions for networking, presentations around the science behind the brand, educational talks and discussions around innovations and solutions to a range of optical conditions.
The event further reiterated our practice’s dedication to remaining at the forefront of developments within the optical industry in order to provide our clients with the very best, tailored solutions to their eye conditions.
On behalf of all at the practice, Roger Pope and Priti Kotecha would like to thank Zeiss for inviting and hosting ourselves. For more information on the brand visit www.zeiss.com
